Bobby Troup ( October 18, 1918 - February 7, 1999, born Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) was an actor, jazz pianist and songwriter. His most notable songs were "(Get your kicks on) Route 66", a hit for Nat King Cole and one of the first songs recorded by the Rolling Stones. He also wrote the title song sung by Little Richard for the first-run rock and roll movie " The Girl Can't Help It ". His song "The Meaning of the Blues" appeared on the Miles Davis album, Miles Ahead.
