Berrien County is a county located in the extreme southwest of the U.S. State of Michigan. As of 2000, the population is 162,453. Its county seat is St. Joseph 6.

As one of the Cabinet counties, Berrien county was named for John M. Berrien of Georgia, U.S. Attorney General under U.S. President Andrew Jackson (1829-1831).
