A bead is a small, decorative object that is pierced for threading or stringing.

Beads range in size from under a millimeter to over a centimeter. Glass, plastic, and stone are probably the most common materials, but beads are also made from the seeds of the Bead tree, and also from bone, metal, resin, wood, clay, feltFelt was also the name of a 1980s' UK Indie band. Felt is a cloth made without weaving (a non-woven) which is produced by matting, condensing and pressing fibers. It tends only to work well with woollen fibres as their scales, when agravated bond together, paperPaper is a thin, flat material produced by the compression of fibres. The fibers used are usually natural and based upon cellulose. The most common material is wood pulp from pulpwood (largely softwood) trees such as pines, but other vegetable fiber mater, and other materials.

BeadworkBeadwork is the art or craft of attaching beads to one another or to cloth using a needle and thread.
