The Backstreet Boys, or BSB, are a boy band and pop group formed in 1992 by manager Lou Pearlman that grew to considerable popularity in the late 1990s and the year 2000, but quietly slipped away from the charts. The band went on hiatus for 3 years.

The name Backstreet came from a restaurant in Florida that Brian had discovered.

On December 10th, 2003 the Backstreet Boys reunited on Oprah. They hit the studio's in early 2004 to start recording their new album. It is set for release in early 2005, most likely February. Their next single, most likely "Poster Girl", is due for release in November 2003.

At their peak, the Backstreet Boys had a wildly excited following among pre-teen and older fans, predominantly female, and across many international markets. They retain considerable residual popularity.

Their hits included both up- tempo songs like "Backstreet's Back" and "The One" and soft ballads like "As Long As You Love Me," "Shape of My Heart," and the ambiguously longing "I Want It That Way"

Originally from Orlando, Florida, the band's members include Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Kevin's cousin Brian Littrell, AJ McLeanAlexander James McLean (born January 9, 1978) rose to fame as a member of the band Backstreet Boys. McLean and the band filed a lawsuit against manager Lou Pearlman, claiming he had made $10 million from their labor while they had received $300,000. McLea and Howie DoroughHoward Dwaine Dorough (born August 22, 1973) and better known in the show business plainly as Howie Dorough is a native of Orlando, Florida and a Puerto Rican through his mother. He is a member of world famous boy band, The Backstreet Boys. He declared th. Their harmony has 5 parts and it is very mild.
