Aylmer is a city in western Quebec, Canada on the Ottawa River. It is located within the city limits of Gatineau. Population ( 2001): 36,085.

In the recent election dealing with separation from Gatineau, Aylmer actually voted to separate, but since there were not enough votes actually cast, it remains part of the amalgamated city.

The majority of Aylmer's population is anglophone; much of its workforce commutes across the river to Ottawa.
