Avon is a town located in Hartford County, Connecticut. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 15,832.

It was settled in 1645 and was originally a part of Farmington. In 1830, Avon incorporated as a separate town. It is generally considered a suburb of Hartford. Avon Old Farms School, a prestigious boarding school, is located there.
