2 Demographics

As of the census ² of 2000, there are 5,359 people, 2,009 households, and 1,386 families residing in the city. The population density is 363.6/km² (942.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 65.42% White, 24.58% African American, 0.45% Native American, 0.90% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 6.40% from other races, and 2.26% from two or more races. 11.07% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
