Austell is a city located in Cobb County, Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 5,359.

1 Geography

Austell is located at 33°48'57" North, 84°38'10" West (33.815905, -84.636242) 1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 14.8 km˛ (5.7 mi˛). 14.7 km˛ (5.7 mi˛) of it is land and 0.18% is water.

2 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 5,359 people, 2,009 households, and 1,386 families residing in the city. The population density is 363.6/km˛ (942.1/mi˛). There are 2,144 housing units at an average density of 145.5/km˛ (376.9/mi˛). The racial makeup of the city is 65.42% White, 24.58% African American, 0.45% Native American, 0.90% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 6.40% from other races, and 2.26% from two or more races. 11.07% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
