Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadyumu is in Istanbul and the highest-capacity stadium of Turkey. It was built for Turkey's olympics bid and cost about 100 million USD.

With its 80.000 seats and Olympic size, it was granted the 5-star sport complex title by UEFA in 2004, enabling it to host finals of UEFA events.

Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadyumu has hosted some European athletic competitions. Galatasaray played its home games at Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadyumu during 2003- 2004 football season, due to the bad condition of their own venue, Ali Sami Yen Stadyumu , and this has been criticized by other teams. Galatasaray eventually moved into a rebuilt Ali Sami Yen for the 2004- 2005 season.

The 2005 Champions League final will be played at Atatürk Olimpiyat Stadyumu.
