Ashby is a town located in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,845.

1 History

Ashby was first settled in 1676 and was officially incorporated in 1767.

2 Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 62.6 km² (24.2 mi²). 61.6 km² (23.8 mi²) of it is land and 1.0 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.53% water.

3 Demographics

As of the census 2 of 2000, there are 2,845 people, 978 households, and 783 families residing in the town. The population density is 46.2/km² (119.6/mi²). There are 1,011 housing units at an average density of 16.4/km² (42.5/mi²).
