As Good As It Gets is a 1997 film which tells the story of an obsessive-compulsive, cranky writer named Melvin Udall who forms a relationship with a waitress who is a single mother. It stars Jack Nicholson, Helen Hunt, Greg Kinnear, Cuba Gooding Jr., Shirley Knight , Skeet Ulrich and Yeardley Smith.

The screenplay was written by Mark Andrus and James L. Brooks, and directed by Brooks.

It won Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Jack Nicholson) and Best Actress in a Leading Role (Helen Hunt).
