Here is a list of the rulers of Aragon, now a region of north-eastern Spain. The Aragonese kingdom included the present-day autonomous community of Aragon. The Aragonese kings of the House of Barcelona ruled as well Catalonia (which included Roussillon, nowadays the département of Pyrenées-Orientales in France), the kingdom of Valencia, the kingdom of Majorca, the kingdom of Sicily, Sardinia and assorted territories in the South of France, including the city of Montpellier. This state is referred to as the Crown of Aragon, as opposed to the Kingdom of Aragon (i.e. Aragon proper)Early counts of Aragon

- circa 809 820 Aznar I GalíndezAznar I Galindez (?? 839) was Count of Aragon from 809 to 820, succeeding Aureolo upon the latter's death. From his loss of Aragon in 820 until his death in 839, Aznar I was count of Cerdanya and Urgell. Aznar I was the great-grandson of Galindo, probably. c. 820 the frankish influence is eliminated.

Galindo GarcésGalindo Garces (?? 844) was a Count of Aragon from 833 until his death in 844, the son and succesor of Garcia I Galindez of Pamplona (count of Aragon 820- 833). He was the grandson of Galindo Belascotenes and great-grandson of Belasco, count of Pamplona c, son of García I Galindez

NOTES:
Names and order of rulers is extremely uncertain. Other persons cited as counts of Aragon include, among others, Jimeno Aznar, Galindo García and Fortun Jiménez, that seems to be from the kingdom of Sobrarbe .
