The "Apu Trilogy" is the name given to three films directed by the late director Satyajit Ray, who won an Oscar for lifetime achievement in 1992.

These films are Pather Panchali, Aparajito and Apur Sansar .

Based on the works of the great Bengali litterateur Bibhuti Bhusan Bandopadhyay , these films when released in the 1950s, had the distinct trace of French Impressionism , Italian Neoclassicism and Hollywood.
