Apples in Stereo is an indie rock band associated with the innovative Elephant 6 Recording Company, a group of bands also including Neutral Milk Hotel, Secret Square and Olivia Tremor Control. Led by Robert Schneider , the band formed in Denver, Colorado with Jim McIntyre , Robert Parfitt and Hilarie Sidney . Their debut release was Apples in Stereo , followed by 1995's full-length Fun Trick Noisemaker .

Apples in Stereo has continued releasing albums throughout the 1990s, and their most recent release is 2002's Velocity of Sound .
