Home > Apostolic Administrator

In the Catholic church, the Apostolic Administrator is a person appointed by the Pope to serve in a leadership role for a Diocese that has no Bishop. This person serves in that role until such time that a Bishop is chosen for the Diocese. The Apostolic Administrator has most of the same duties and powers of a Bishop. However there are a few powers that an Administator does not have, these powers are reserved to a Bishop due to tradition or church law.
