The Annexation Manifesto was published by a supporter of the annexation to the United States of America in the Montreal Gazette in 1849. The manifesto outlined the arguments used by annexionists to convince Canadians to support the political mouvement. The Annexation Movement received the support of certain businessmen in Tory circles, but never managed to gain the support of a significant portion of the population of either Canada West or Canada East.
