Andy Kershaw (born Rochdale, Lancashire, 1959) is a British broadcaster, known predominantly as a champion of world music.

The brother of fellow presenter Liz Kershaw, he organised the entertainment at Leeds University and began his career in broadcasting with Leeds station Radio Aire He then moved to London and worked as a roadie for various acts, including Billy Bragg.

He presented the music programme Whistle Test for BBC television in the mid- 1980s which featured sessions from new and established acts, and during this period was one of the anchormen of the corporation's coverage of Live AidLive Aid was a multi-venue rock music concert held on July 13, 1985. The event was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure in order to raise funds for famine relief in Ethiopia. Billed as a "global jukebox", the main sites for the event were Wembley Stadium.

He then joined the national pop network BBC Radio 1BBC Radio 1 is a British radio station, specialising in popular music aimed at a young audience (children, teenagers and young adults). Radio 1 was launched at 7am on September 30, 1967 as a direct response to the popularity of illegal pirate radio statio to host a Sunday night show which, as his tastes broadened, eventually became a weekly outlet for world music, featuring acts and styles from all corners of the globe. Kershaw now hosts a world music show on BBC Radio 33 BBC Radio 3 is a domestic UK BBC radio station, launched as The BBC Third Programme in 1946. Its name was changed on 30 September 1967 when, with the launch of BBC Radio 1, the three other national radio channels were also given numbers and, logically e and is a keen traveller. He has two children by his long-time partner.
