Ancaster is a small community southwest of Hamilton, Ontario. Ancaster is the most western point of the Golden Horseshoe. Formerly a separate town, Ancaster amalgamated with the City of Hamilton in 2001.The community had a population of approximately 28,000 in the 2001 census.
Ancaster is mostly a bedroom community, with most residents working in Hamilton, Brantford, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga and Toronto.
