1 Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 23.5 km² (9.1 mi²). 21.7 km² (8.4 mi²) of it is land and 1.8 km² (0.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 7.71% water.

2 Demographics

As of the census ² of 2000, there are 11,304 people, 4,874 households, and 2,865 families residing in the city. The population density is 520.8/km² (1,348.9/mi²). There are 5,200 housing units at an average density of 239.6/km² (620.5/mi²). There are 4,874 households out of which 26.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.1% are married couplesMarriage is a relationship that plays a key role in the definition of many families.
