Allen Neuharth was the founder of USA Today newspaper, and writes a regular column in the newspaper.

In 1982, in response to a question from author Richard Reeves about whether newspapers had a role in educating the public, he had this to say: "We may have a bit of a role in educating the public...but not so much that it gets in the way of the information they want and will pay for.”
