Boxing - there are 7 boxers from Algeria. 4 were defeated in their first matches, while 3 advanced to the round of 16 in their weight classes.
Fencing - Algeria fielded 8 fencers. All three of the male sabre fencers were defeated in the round of 64, as was the female épéeist. Sofiane el Azizi won his first match in foil, advancing to the round of 32.

Judo - there are 13 judokas from Algeria.
Rowing - 5 Algerians are competing in rowing.
Swimming - 8 swimmers from Algeria are competing in Athens. Salim Iles finished 16th from the initial 100 m freestyle heats, qualifying for semifinals. He then placed 5th in the semifinals to advance to the finals.
Table Tennis - Algeria sent two doubles teams and two single players (one of which was also on a doubles team) to Athens. The Algerians lost all four of their first-round matches.
Tennis - 1 tennis player from Algeria was present at the games. He lost in the round of 64.
Weightlifting - Algeria was represented by two weightlifters in Athens. Nafaa Benami , competing in the men's 56 kg class, did not complete the clean and jerk portion of the event.
WrestlingWrestling at the 2004 Summer Olympics took place in the Ano Liossia Olympic Hall and was split into two disciplines, Freestyle and Greco-Roman which are further divided into different weight categories. Men competed in both disciplines whereas women only - there are two wrestlers from Algeria at the Athens games.
