Home > Alaska Marine Highway

The Alaska Marine Highway is a group of ferry ships that are operated by the government of the state of Alaska in the United States along the south central coast and the Inside Passage of Alaska and British Columbia, Canada. These ships serve the communities in southeastern Alaska that have no road access by transporting people, freight and vehicles. Most routes are closed during the winter months.

The routes go as far south as Bellingham, Washington in the lower United States and as far west as Unalaska, Alaska.

The official website of the Alaska Marine Highway is at http://www.dot.state.ak.us/amhs.
