Aktau is a city in Kazakhstan and a seaport to the Caspian Sea. Aktau is located at a latitude of 43° 52' 0" N and a longitude of 51° 6' 0" E.

In 1964, Aktau's name was changed to Shevchenko to honour the poet Taras Shevchenko, but the city was once again renamed to Aktau in 1992.
