Adult album alternative (also Adult Alternative or AAA [vocalized "Triple-A"]) is a radio format which has an larger, more diverse playlist centered mostly on the fringe of mainstream pop and rock music as well as many other music genres such as alternative rock, alternative country, jazz , folk, world music and blues. The musical selections tend to shy away from rap and harder rock.
