Adios was originally conceived as KMFDM's parting shot to its longtime record label, Wax Trax! Records. But it also ended up signaling the break-up of KMFDM itself, at least for a time. This was the last album to feature En Esch and Günter Schulzalso known as Svet Am, Svetlana Ambrosius) German-born musician, formerly of KMFDM. After leaving that band in 1999, Schulz went on to form Slick Idiot with fellow KMFDM refugee En Esch. Schulz, Gunter., who went on to become Slick IdiotSlick Idiot is an electronic music band in the industrial music genre. It was formed by former KMFDM members Gunter Schulz and En Esch following the 1998 breakup of KMFDM. Before taking on the name Slick Idiot En Esch and Gunter Schulz did a cover of Nine. Following the break-up, founding KMFDM member Sascha Konietzko went on to create MDFMKMDFMK was formed by two members of KMFDM, Sascha Konietzko and Tim Skold, following a brief break-up of KMFDM. Lucia Cifarelli of Drill rounded out the trio. They released a self titled album on Universal Records, not to be confused with the earlier KMFDM before recreating KMFDM without En Esch and Schulz.
