Home > Abington, Cambridgeshire

Abington is a community in South Cambridgeshire and consists of two villages: Little Abington and Great Abington.

The village history dates back to Bronze Age times some 4000 years ago. The Saxons gave the village its name, originally called "Abba's Farm" - the Great and Little came a lot later, long after the two manors on either side of the river were alloted to different people at the Norman Conquest.
