- The European Commission approves three new regulations to liberalize air travel within the European Union. EU airlines are gradually given unlimited rights to serve airports in other member states, with the final round of reforms complete by April 1997.
- The Operations of AustraliaAustralia is the sixth-largest country in the world (geographically), the only one to occupy an entire continent, and the largest in the region of Australasia. Australia includes the island of Tasmania, which is an Australian State. Its neighbouring count's two government airlines, Australian Airlines & QantasQantas is Australia's oldest and largest airline, and the world's third oldest airline (after KLM and Avianca). Its IATA designator is QF. History The company was founded on 16 November 1920 as " Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Limited", are merged in preparations for Qantas's privatisation, which will happen in 19951995 was a common year starting on Sunday (see link for calendar).
