| Spectral class | MM-type asteroids are metallic asteroids; they are moderately bright ( albedo. 18) and made of nickel- iron, either pure or mixed with stone. They are thought to be samples of the metallic core of differentiated asteroids and originate in the inner portion |

110 Lydia is a quite large Main belt asteroidAn asteroid is a small, solid object in our Solar System, orbiting the Sun. An asteroid is an example of a minor planet (or planetoid , which are much smaller than planets. The asteroids are believed to be remnants of the protoplanetary disc which were no composed of fairly pure nickel- iron. Lydia asteroid family is named after it.
It was discovered by A. Borrelly on April 19, 1870. It was his second asteroid discovery.
Lydia occulted a dim star on September 18, 1999.
