The 1. FC Nürnberg , the Club, is a football club in Nuremberg. It was founded on May 4th, 1900; its current president is Michael A. Roth. The club has divisions in boxing, handball, hockey, rollerblading and ice skating, swimming, skiing and tennis; the best known however is the football division with 5000 members. The home games are played in the Frankenstadion , with a capacity of 44,600.
Until 1987, the Club held the title of Deutscher Rekordmeister (record championship holder) for over 60 years befor it was replaced by Bayern Munich.
